Police fire on Dutch Farmers
Police in Friesland in the Netherlands have fired on Dutch farmers protesting against ecological insanity, including proposed restrictions on nitrogen oxide and ammonia produced by livestock, which could mean farmers have to cut their stock by 70%, by 2030. Farmers have blocked shops, the distribution centres of large supermarket chains, roads to airports, set fire to bales of Hay and sprayed manure onto government offices, ministerial properties, riot police and reportedly, the Hague. Fishermen, who will not be given licenses this year if they don’t have ‘eco-friendly’ boats, have blocked the ports in sympathy
The farmers in Friesland were trying to push past a police blockade and were driving directly towards the police, who reportedly felt threatened and fired three shots. Fortunately none of the shots hit the farmers; one shot hit a tractor and bounced off. Three of the farmers were arrested.
The Dutch government’s internal investigation department, the Rijksrecherche, will be investigating the incident because shots were fired.
Canon doubts the canon.
From manure cannons to Canons talking about the canon. Sorry for the bad pun: a Canon in the Anglican church is a priest with more authority than a parish priest but less than a bishop – the canon of scripture is the set of writings that the church decided was the authoritative Word of God on the basis of apostolic (eyewitness) authority in the early church.
Tom Kennar, the Anglican Canon of St Faith’s Church, Havant, which is near Portsmouth in the south of England, is recorded in this sermon as saying that the Bible is not the Word of God and should not be taken literally:
Interestingly this emotionally manipulative line of argument is not new in the Anglican church; it goes back at least to the nineteenth century.
Using a petrol-powered leaf blower in Washington State in the US could soon land you in jail.
From blowers of hot air, to leaf blowers. Washington State Representative Amy Walen has pre-filed legislation that adds to the Washington State Clean Air Act. HB 1868 is going to ban “gasoline-powered and diesel-powered landscaping and other outdoor power equipment” because of its “contribution to climate change.” The Department of Ecology is given powers to ban such evil equipment by January 1st 2026, or even sooner if possible. The punishment for using a petrol-powered leaf blower will be 365 days in jail or a substantial fine.
Amy Walen’s legislation applies to businesses, but exempts government contractors from the ban.
New plos study claims the breath of humans contributes to climate change
From leaf blowers, to more hot air about hot air. A ridiculous new plos study claims that the methane and nitrous oxide exhaled by humans contributes to climate change. This ridiculous study attempts to foist guilt on people for existing; when one considers the facts, the natural sources of methane and nitrous oxide vastly outweigh human sources. This pseudo-scientific is another step down the dreadful road of a climate religion. 2030 here we come.
Abstract
Exhaled human breath can contain small, elevated concentrations of methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O), both of which contribute to global warming. These emissions from humans are not well understood and are rarely quantified in global greenhouse gas inventories. This study investigated emissions of CH4 and N2O in human breath from 104 volunteers in the UK population, to better understand what drives these emissions and to quantify national-scale estimates. A total of 328 breath samples were collected, and age, sex, dietary preference, and smoking habits were recorded for every participant. The percentage of methane producers (MPs) identified in this study was 31%. The percentage of MPs was higher in older age groups with 25% of people under the age of 30 classified as MPs compared to 40% in the 30+ age group. Females (38%) were more likely to be MPs than males (25%), though overall concentrations emitted from both MP groups were similar. All participants were found to emit N2O in breath, though none of the factors investigated explained the differences in emissions. Dietary preference was not found to affect CH4 or N2O emissions from breath in this study. We estimate a total emission of 1.04 (0.86–1.40) Gg of CH4 and 0.069 (0.066–0.072) Gg of N2O in human breath annually in the UK, the equivalent of 53.9 (47.8–60.0) Gg of CO2. In terms of magnitude, these values are approximately 0.05% and 0.1% of the total emissions of CH4 and N2O reported in the UK national greenhouse gas inventories.
