You do a search for some file or other - the file comes up in the search window and you click on it.
but for some reason the file can’t be opened.
What you have to do is control click on the file and click “Show in enclosing folder” and you find out why the file won’t open.
The file is still in the cloud and hasn’t been downloaded. The Operating System doesn’t recognise the fact , and doesn’t pass this information on to the program that is trying to open it. So you must download the file before trying to open it.
This is very annoying, Apple.
Thanks for the tip. This happens with my MacBook often and I always delete the files, thinking they're corrupt. I appreciate your sharing this!
