Claim: Choice is going woke.
Choice magazine in Australia is a magazine that rates all kinds of household goods, electric appliances, electronics and technology, insurance services and travel.
Subscriptions to the magazine and the unrestricted website in Australia cost $119.95.
In the past, Choice have been a very reliable source of information about quality and price for products.
However there has been a gradual progression towards a woke agenda. They appear to be rating products on their ‘environmental responsibility’ rather than their usefulness to the customer.
For instance, in the latest issue, they look at washing machines. The washing machines appear to be ranked simply in order of water usage. This is not what Choice customers pay for. Customers are paying for an assessment of fitness for purpose. If Choice is ranking the products they are looking in terms of environmental responsibility, they are essentially stealing from their customers, who are not paying them for this kind of assessment.
Of course, if they had a separate ranking for environmental responsibility, I suppose people would not have any reason to complain. However, if that is the sole criterion, the magazine has outlasted its usefulness, and is fit only to be recycled.
