Fact check: Children's immune system damaged by the vaccine
Igor Chudov’s substack pointed out this recent letter to the editor, posted on 7 September 2022 in the New England Journal of Medicine.
They are reporting on the protection conferred by the BNT162b2 vaccine and by previous SARS-CoV-2 infection against infection and Covid-19–related hospitalization and death in children 5 to 11 years of age.
These charts summarise their results:
In the article itself the scientists minimise the impact of their results, but the data tells a different story.
Note for instance chart E and F. There is one large difference between these two charts: the scale.
Notice the effectiveness of previous infection chart F has a scale of months, not weeks, as in the effectiveness of the vaccine. I have rescaled these two graphs below to show the actual comparison:
Previous infection gives 100% protection for twice as long as the Pfizer vaccine gives only partial protection, not even reaching 90%, which is around the level of effectiveness that is necessary actually to give herd immunity.
What is quite shocking, however, is the contrast shown in graphs C and D.
What appears to be happening here is that the vaccine destroys previously acquired immunity. What do we expect? Essentially the mRNA vaccines are like a child fiddling around in Dad’s car engine with a sledgehammer: they are mucking about with our cell’s internal systems for creating necessary proteins, without really knowing what they’re doing.
Some comfort to parents who have vaccinated their children might be the supplementary data which shows that 7 children died out of 887,193 unvaccinated children. Most of these children who died caught the pre-Omicron variant, which was more lethal, and one wonders how many of the children were already quite sick with a pre-existing illness. The data doesn’t tell us that.
Once the vaccinations rolled out, it is quite possible the few children who had pre-existing conditions that made it likely that they would die if exposed to Covid-19 had probably already died. This skews those figures somewhat.
