Fact check: Johnson and Johnson DOES cause Thrombosis
This claim was examined by the FDA in 2021 and dismissed, but it turns out to be true.
The claim that the Johnson and Johnson vaccine causes Thrombosis was examined by the FDA in early 2021, during which time vaccine was suspended in April 2021, but the claim was quickly dismissed.
But it turns out that it was true. The FDA has issued new warnings concerning the use of the vaccine and Thrombosis with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome (TTS).
In their news release, they referred to the suspension of the drug on April 13 2021 and the fact that it had been reinstated on April 23 2021, having been found to be apparently safe by their safety evaluation. However a revision of the data in December 2021 prompted a new review.
They said:
The FDA and CDC have continuously monitored for and investigated all suspected cases of TTS reported to VAERS. In an updated analysis of TTS cases following administration of the Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine that were reported to VAERS through March 18, 2022, the FDA and CDC have identified 60 confirmed cases, including nine fatal cases. The FDA has determined that the reporting rate of TTS is 3.23 per million doses of vaccine administered and the reporting rate of TTS deaths is 0.48 per million doses of vaccine administered.
There is now a health warning on their fact sheet.
In the FDA fact sheet they say that 15 percent of the blood clot cases have resulted in death.
Cases of TTS following administration of the [Johnson & Johnson] COVID-19 Vaccine have been reported in males and females, in a wide age range of individuals 18 years and older, with the highest reporting rate (approximately 8 cases per 1,000,000 doses administered) in females ages 30-49 years
This should not be surprising considering the irregular way these experimental medications were fast-tracked in the first place.
