G20 endorses digital vaccine passports.
Vaccination passports for international travel in the G20.
After the G20 met in Bali this week for a two day summit (November 15-16), a joint statement was issued from the Whitehouse, that includes a sentence endorsing digital and non-digital vaccination passports for international travel.
In a paragraph ostensibly about strengthening local and regional health manufacturing capacities we find this little gem:
IHR (2005) is the United Nations International Health Regulations, published by the World Health Organisation.
The statement says that to facilitate international travel they support digital and non-digital solutions including proof of vaccination.
In other words, vaccination passports for international travel. They also speak about capitalising and building on the “success of the existing standards and digital COVID-19 certificates”.
Addendum:
This is confirmed in the pdf issued from the G20 website itself.
