Thank you for this article, I was in a similar position to you. I think the interpretation is everything here below are to other translations to the final sentences of Isaiah 8: 11-13. I take the final sentence to fear God and the meaning of fear as follows, morally to revere, regard (God) with reverence and awe, reverence - deep respect. This passage is talking about fear in a respectful way not vengeful, give him reverence. There are so many instances of the bible telling you to fear not
None but the LORD of Hosts
Shall you account holy;
Give reverence to Him alone,
Hold Him alone in awe.
Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.
But a few Bible instances of fear not,
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9
For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7
I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34:4
