US lobbyists are trying to push through digital currency
Legislation would make Bitcoin and other cryptos illegal
US financial industry lobbyists are trying to push through digital currency legislation in the States that would enshrine a single government-based digital currency as law and make Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies illegal.
The legislation was vetoed by Governor Kristi Noem of South Dakota but it has been put forward in other states. It was deceptively put forward by lobbyists as a routine update to banking legislation, but contained provisions that would severely limit people’s financial freedoms, allowing them to turn off people’s bank accounts at will and track every single transaction.
