Editorial: What it would mean to be connected to the internet 24/7
This pipe-dream of the transhumanists has one great flaw
Tech companies already feel conscience bound to control our thoughts.
We all know already that the big tech companies are editing results to push their own agendas, and indeed, out of a sense of duty to what they believe their holistic mission is, which is, to change things for the better; but what is good? That’s the problem. The things they do now include such practices as minimising results for climate skeptics and right wing figures online, deleting the accounts of politically incorrect figures and organisations such as Trump, PragerU, and Expose, to such apparently harmless but still dishonest practices as manipulating the results when one is looking up images of physicists, for instance, to show more female physicists than male, although the reality is that there are very few female physicists.
Whoever controls the connection controls the minds of the people.
If the transhumanists could have their pipe-dream, and people’s brains could be connected to the internet 24/7, ostensibly to make life better and give people all the enhancements technology and the internet can bring, what this actually would mean in practice is that whoever controls the connection controls the minds of the people.
Such a mind-tech connection, even if it were possible, would mean trading not only physical freedom (something people gleefully traded for safety under the spurious Coronavirus lockdowns) but even trading their freedom to think for themselves, for every power relationship becomes a trade-off: whoever controls the internet will be able to control even our own thoughts.
The Promise of Faust
So the supposed freedom of being able to know all things, to have an augmented intellectual power, comes with strings attached therefore; this is exactly the promise of Faust - that the Devil gave to that medieval seeker of knowledge, Faust, in the old German legend - to have all knowledge at his fingertips in return for his soul.
You can be sure that those who feel conscience-bound now to control our unacceptable thoughts, that is, the mass media, the internet giants, the big tech companies, the billionaires, the Western governments and the WEF, will feel no pangs of conscience at controlling every single thought of those who remain constantly connected.
And these people have an agenda that is anti-Christian: if they can distract people from thinking about God, how will they then be able to repent? Our devices are even able to distract us from God now, already, without even having a 24/7 connection.
What a nightmare that would be.
The state of bio-electronic technology and the BRAIN project
I have fact-checked the state of some of this bio-electronic technology, which is still apparently in its infancy. But the brain mapping project that Obama began, BRAIN, is now in its 9th year, for it began in 2013. By the 15th year their aim was to be able to completely map and monitor a mouse brain, to be able to read the activity of the neurons therein. At present their aims for 2025 are much more ambitious in fact; and that will only be the 12th year.
How to be ready?
This is a supernatural battle. Who can help us to be ready? Only God. Seek him in prayer, reading the scriptures, making device-free time for God and friends and family and oneself.
Stay awake.
“Be on guard, so that your hearts will not be weighted down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that day will not come on you suddenly like a trap; for it will come upon all those who dwell on the face of all the earth. But keep on the alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are about to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.” Luke 21:34-36
