The great deception approaches?
New Amazon show purveys spiritual deception in an innocent cartoon musical format
Hazbin Hotel - a has-been heresy.
The new Amazon Prime show, Hazbin Hotel, reiterates the ancient deception that Satan is the good guy, the one who tells the truth and is on our side, a lie which was believed by Adam and Eve in the first place, for, when the serpent in the garden said to Eve, “Did God really say that you can’t eat any fruit in the garden?” he was implying that God was not their friend, and then he claims that God was lying to them…
Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LordGod had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”
The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’”
“You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Genesis 3
The true friend to mankind is God: Jesus Christ, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit.
But everyone from the worshippers of Moloch and Bel and Baal in the ancient world, to Madame Blavatsky and Daisetz T Suzuki in the modern world have regurgitated this spiritual lie.
Amazon Prime’s cartoon musical show, Hazbin Hotel, is about a demon-girl (a kind of hybrid Nephilim essentially - a daughter of Satan and Lilith) who wants to use her hotel to redeem people using some kind of rehab treatment to make them good, in order to open the gates of hell to free them.
This in itself is a deception: hell is not a pleasant place, where one can spend one’s time in some sort of a hotel, getting rehabilitation.
But I have annotated the below image from the Amazon Prime website for the show with a short note showing the only way any soul can be redeemed, which is through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross and the forgiveness of sins, as it is preached in the gospel.
It’s very sad to see a show like this this being produced and watched, because it comes out of a fundamental misunderstanding of spiritual realities.
Like many dramatists since the era of Modernism began, the writers of this show have no conception of goodness that is not either self-righteousness, or trying to be good. This is because whenever they themselves try to be good, they become self-righteous as soon as they achieve some small thing; this naturalistic belief that there are only two alternatives, hoping to goodness and despairing / wallowing in selfishness is exemplified in dramatic works since the 1900s as the dramatic dichotomy between the angel on one shoulder and the demon on the other.
But the righteousness of Jesus Christ exists in a spiritual realm of which such people have no conception. God is completely good, there is no shadow of turning in Him at all. Praise God! Jesus is both perfectly loving and perfectly good; and God desires all people to be saved1.
The fundamental misunderstanding about righteousness and what sin and salvation is, preached in this show, is not new either – in John’s Gospel, when Jesus tells the disciples that He is going away; in other words, going to the cross – he tells them that the Advocate who is coming after he leaves - the Holy Spirit - will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgement.
…you are filled with grief because I have said these things. But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. When He comes, He will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: about sin, because people do not believe in Me; about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned. John 16:5-11 NIV
Episode 1 - depicting the heavenly beings as psychotic - a dangerous lie.
In the first episode the protagonist demon-girl pitches the idea to the angels – and the heavenly beings in Hazbin Hotel are depicted as self-righteous and kind of psychotic.
Insulting the heavenly beings, however, is a very dangerous thing to do:
In the very same way, on the strength of their dreams these ungodly people pollute their own bodies, reject authority and heap abuse on celestial beings. But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not himself dare to condemn him for slander but said, “The Lord rebuke you!” Yet these people slander whatever they do not understand, and the very things they do understand by instinct—as irrational animals do—will destroy them. Jude 1:8-10
But redemption is found in Jesus
But the biggest fact that the writers of this show don’t understand is that Jesus has already achieved redemption for everyone and anyone who will come to Him, by dying upon the cross for the sins of the whole world.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.” John 3:16-21
John is saying here that sadly, many people do not want to come to the light, because their evil works will be exposed.
I pray that God will have mercy on the creators of this show, who one day may deeply regret having misled people with such a bunch of garbage and lies.
And I plead with anyone who reads this post, turn to Jesus today, for the eternal love of God revealed in His Son is our only sure and certain hope for salvation.
First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be offered for everyone— for kings and all those in authority—so that we may lead tranquil and quiet lives in all godliness and dignity. This is good and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all—the testimony that was given at just the right time.
For this reason I was appointed as a preacher, an apostle, and a faithful and true teacher of the Gentiles. I am telling the truth; I am not lying about anything. Therefore I want men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands, without anger or dissension. I Timothy 2:1-8 BSB
